The Michaelmas term seminar series, held on Wednesdays from 1-2pm in seminar room 3, QEH, begins on 14 October with IMI's own Ali Chaudhary examining Pakistani migrant transnational social service organisations in London, Toronto and New York.
Over the next eight weeks speakers will address topics including transnational ageing in the French and Dutch welfare states, social protection in African cities, and the lack of social protection for hyper-mobile migrant workers within the European Union. Speakers include Jessica Hagen-Zanker of the Overseas Development Institute and IMI's director, Oliver Bakewell.
The seminars are open to all, free to attend (registration not necessary), and include a sandwich lunch. Podcasts of each seminar will be made available shortly afterward.
